Statement of Policy from the Company
Safety Statement
M&P Construction Ltd acknowledges the responsibility
to secure the safety, health and welfare of all employees
and individuals who may be at risk due to work being
carried out in accordance with the Safety, Health
and Welfare at Work Act 2005, the Safety Health and
Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006 and
all other statutory provisions and codes of practice.
We are committed to and provide resources for the
implementation of our safety management system, which
has been produced in accordance with the provisions
of all relevant acts and regulations.
1. The objectives of the policy are:

We are committed to identifying
and then, so far as is reasonably practicable, eliminating,
reducing and controlling risks and protecting employees
and others who may be affected by our undertaking.

To maintain effective systems
of communication and consultation and where required;
to communicate any risks to health, safety and welfare
to those identified as may be affected by our undertaking.

Provide and maintain a safe
and healthy working environment, safe systems and
methods of work and to protect employees and others,
in so far as they come into contact with foreseeable
work hazards.

To provide employees with adequate
and relevant information, instruction and training
required to work safely and efficiently and to develop
safety awareness among employees and sub-contractors.

To define all individuals’
responsibility for health and safety matters.

To be committed to pollution
prevention and compliance with all relevant EU and
national environmental legislation.

To encourage continual improvement
in occupational health and safety and environmental
performance.
All employees, visitors and contractors
are expected to co-operate with the Company management
team in ensuring that high standards of health and safety
can be achieved. All bodies are reminded of their own
legal responsibilities and duties, which are explained
in the Safety Statement.
Managers and supervisors accept responsibility
for people and areas under their control and will implement
and integrate all health and safety procedures into everyday
management activities. All employees are responsible for
their own health and safety and that of others who may
be affected by their acts or omissions. Feedback on the
effectiveness of health and safety measures will be encouraged.
This Safety Statement, together with
the arrangements for its implementation, will be available
for the benefit of all employees, sub-contractors and
visitors.
The management of M&P Construction
have committed resources to ensuring that their staff
members are competent and have sufficient knowledge and
experience to fulfil their role in the construction industry
in compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation
and associated regulations.
There is an in house health and safety
department present within the company with dedicated full
time staff members. M&P Construction are currently
working towards accreditation in OHSAS 18001 Safety Management
System. They have devised site specific Safety Management
Systems in compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare
at Work Act 2005, Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction)
Regulations 2006 and all other relevant legislation under
its umbrella.
Senior members of staff and site managers
have completed a certificate course in Managing Safely
for Construction Managers, which is accredited by IOSH.
It is the policy of the company
to protect so far as is reasonably practicable persons
not employed by the company who may in any way be affected
by our activities. All hazards in the workplace are identified
and risk assessments are undertaken in order that adequate
controls can be put in place. These controls are constantly
under review and are recorded and updated as required.
The company has implemented a comprehensive Health and
Safety programme that results in the expeditious completion
of projects as well as the ongoing safety of our staff.
